LIGHT MY HOME.

Living in under developed community comes with a lot of challenges. Having no lights has caused more harm to all vulnerable people. People have lost their close relative due to darkness this is where the prey finds it easy to attack and steal

and even worse, they end up killing you if you try to resist.

So many cases here in court about the people who were victims and some who died and now their families try to seek justice. Young women have also been. Abused and attacked in this dark areas.

NIFA LUNCHEON

Nifa Reads Program.

Having children read books regularly is an excellent way to enhance their reading skills and boost their speech confidence. When kids read, they are exposed to new vocabulary, sentence structure, and ideas, which help to expand their understanding of language. This exposure gradually improves their reading fluency and comprehension, making it easier for them to tackle more complex text over time.

Reading aloud, in particular, plays a role in building speech confidence. As children practice reading out loud, they become more comfortable with the sound of words and the rhythm of sentence. This practice helps them to develop

clearer articulation and more expressive speech, which are essential skill for effective communication. Additionally, reading aloud encourages kids to engage with the material on deeper level, enhancing their ability to understand and

retain information.

As children gain proficiency in reading, they feel a sense of achievement that further boosts their confidence. This positive reinforcement encourages them to read more, creating a virtuous cycle of improvement. In this way, regular reading not only strengthens a child’s reading ability but also builds the confidence needed to express themselves clearly ands effectively in both academic and social settings.

Gaza, Makongeni, Tuff Gong, Greenhut

On Friday, 16th of December  2022, a group of 17 young people in Kenya, Nairobi, Kibera (Gaza, Makongeni, Tuff Gong, Greenhut) participated in a clean-up exercise aimed at making their community and environment clean. The event was organized to showcase the impact of community involvement in keeping the environment clean and to educate young people on the importance of taking responsibility for the environment.

The participants of the event were able to involve the community in the exercise, which showed them what they could achieve when they came together to make their environment clean. The event was impactful as it helped to raise awareness about the importance of keeping the environment clean and educated young people on the need to be responsible for their surroundings.

Despite the positive impact of the clean-up exercise, there were some challenges encountered in some areas where some people did not want their area to be cleaned. Some individuals argued that they should be employed to clean their own region instead of other people being paid to do it for them.

Overall, the event was a success as it helped to bring the community together, educate young people on environmental responsibility, and promote a cleaner environment. The participants hope to continue organizing such events in the future to promote sustainable environmental practices and community involvement.

It is worth noting that the event was supported by NIFA, which played a vital role in ensuring its success.

Feminine Napkin Distribution

In many underdeveloped  areas, access to sanitary towels can be limited due to financial constraints or a lack of availability. As a result, various organizations and projects have been launched to provide affordable and accessible sanitary towels to women living in informal settlements. These initiatives often involve partnerships with local communities and organizations to distribute and promote the use of sanitary towels. The provision of sanitary towels in informal settlements can help to improve menstrual hygiene, reduce health risks, and support women’s overall well-being.
